Bucknell University student found dead in fraternity house just weeks before graduation: Report

A 22-year-old man from New Jersey was found dead in a Bucknell University fraternity house just weeks before he was scheduled to graduate with a degree in political science. new york post.

Christian Samey, of Mountain Lakes, New Jersey, was reportedly pronounced dead at his Phi Gamma Delta fraternity home at 1:50 p.m. Saturday. The cause of death has not been released, but authorities have confirmed that Samai’s death had nothing to do with the active shooter alert or Friday night’s campus lockdown.

University President John Bravman issued a statement “This is an indescribable loss to the Bucknell community, and our hearts go out to Christian’s family and friends,” he wrote after Samai’s death was revealed.

“We would like to note that his death was unrelated to last night’s active shooter alert or campus lockdown, and the circumstances are not suspicious,” he wrote.

“We ask all Bucknellians to support each other during this difficult time and to continue to keep our Christian families in our prayers.”

PennLive.com report Union County Coroner Dominic Adamo said the investigation into the nature of Samai’s death is still ongoing and an autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday.

“Please know that the safety and security of our students is our top priority,” Bravman said in a letter to members of the university community.

“We would like to reassure our students that we are taking every step to support them during this difficult time. Counseling services are available for students who require support and our staff and faculty are available to assist students. will provide guidance and support as needed,” he continued.

According to reports, an alert was issued about a search at 78 University Avenue, Samai’s fraternity house address, around 1:47 p.m. Saturday.

The school has not yet released details about where Samai’s body was found in the home or how authorities believe he died.

Amaya Becker, a student at the university, posted on Facebook: “Our students have been truly shaken over the past 24 hours. Nothing has been decided at this time, but students are currently preparing to hold their own vigil in the campus quad in remembrance.”
