Milwaukee Bucks Adjust Roster Amid Uncertain Future for Giannis Antetokounmpo
The Milwaukee Bucks are currently trying to reshape their roster, dealing with some ambiguity surrounding the future of their star player, Giannis Antetokounmpo.
Recently, sources indicated that the Bucks are moving away from star guard Damian Lillard. Lillard is owed $113 million over the next five years, according to a report.
Compounding the situation, Lillard’s 2024-25 season was cut short due to a torn Achilles tendon. In May, he began addressing his injuries and is anticipated to continue his rehabilitation in Portland, where he spent the first eleven years of his NBA career.
In a significant move, the Bucks have acquired center Miles Turner from the Indiana Pacers. Reports suggest that Turner has agreed to a four-year contract worth $107 million with the Bucks.
Turner has a decade of experience in Indiana behind him but often found himself in a stalemate situation there. He is recognized as one of only three players in the NBA with both 700 three-pointers and 1,400 blocks.
Brooke Lopez, who served as the Bucks’ primary center for several seasons, recently opted for a contract with the Los Angeles Clippers, prompting the team to seek new talent.
The Bucks further bolstered their roster by signing Gary Harris to a two-year deal. Harris has mostly played with the Orlando Magic lately, after beginning his NBA journey with the Denver Nuggets.
Lillard, a nine-time NBA All-Star, made headlines this past season when he transitioned from the Portland Trail Blazers to the Bucks in a major three-team trade. Despite expectations, the Pacers eliminated the Bucks in the first round of the playoffs.
