Bucks’ Patrick Beverley heads to Israel to play for Hapoel Tel Aviv BC

Patrick Beverley is packing his bags for the Israel Basketball Premier League.

On Tuesday, he signed a contract with Hapoel Tel Aviv BC.

“They gave me everything I asked for,” Beverly said. On his podcast X account. “I couldn’t refuse.”

Overseas basketball is deeply rooted in the veteran’s basketball resume, having begun his career in Ukraine, Russia and Greece.

Beverley hinted at his next move on Monday.

He wrote to X He said he was “considering his options between an NBA veteran minimum contract and a historic contract in Europe.”

He played last season for the Milwaukee Bucks.

The pinnacle of his career came when he played for the Houston Rockets and Los Angeles Clippers from 2012-2021.

He has been named to the All-Defensive Team three times and was a first-team selection with the Rockets in 2016-17.

After 666 regular season games, Beverley is trying to put those days behind him.

His new club, Hapoel Tel Aviv BC, was founded in 1935 and has enjoyed success recently.

The team, which competed in the Israeli Premier League and EuroCup Basketball, had risen to second place with an 18-6 record by the 2024 season.

Hapoel Tel Aviv BC also includes three-time NBA Slam Dunk Contest champion Nate Robinson in 2016.

Beverley was set to begin next NBA season serving a four-game suspension for hurling a basketball at two Indiana Pacers fans sitting courtside during Game 6 of the first round of the playoffs.

He also refused to answer ESPN reporter Malinda Adams during an interview because she wasn’t subscribed to his podcast.

Those two actions earned him a four-game suspension that will take him out of the 2025 season.
