Warren Buffett to Adjust Presence at 2026 Shareholder Meeting
Warren Buffett, the founder and chairman of Berkshire Hathaway, will alter his typical appearance at the company’s shareholder meeting in 2026, according to a report from the Omaha World Herald. Instead of taking center stage, he will be seated alongside the board of directors, while Greg Abel, the current vice-chairman and future CEO, takes on the questions from shareholders.
It was noted that this change was at Buffett’s request, as shared by Susie Buffett, Warren’s daughter and a board member. Abel confirmed that the annual meeting is scheduled for May 2nd in Omaha. While Reuters hasn’t independently verified this yet, Berkshire Hathaway has not responded to requests for comment regarding the matter.
Just recently, Berkshire indicated that Buffett will maintain his role as chairman even after Abel steps in as CEO. This announcement followed Buffett’s declaration, made at the company’s latest annual meeting, regarding his intention to step down from the CEO position, wrapping up 60 years of leadership in the investment world.
