The series of explosions have caused police to rock the Israeli Batyam bus, which is described as “substantiated terrorist attacks,” and say they were not injured.
No injuries were reported in the explosion late Thursday. Police said the bomb disposal unit is looking for additional bombs in the city, a suburb of Tel Aviv.
Israeli police said three bombs have exploded, and two have been denied in separate locations.
“These are identical explosive devices with timers, a police spokesperson told AFP.
A large police had been deployed to search for the suspect, police said in a statement.
“The police bomb disposal unit is scanning for additional suspicious objects. We urge the public to avoid the area and maintain alerts about suspicious items,” it added.
Bat Yam mayor Zvika Blott said in a video statement that the explosion occurred on two buses in two different parking lots.
“There were no injuries in these cases,” Blott said, adding that the cause of the explosion is still unknown.
Television footage aired by several Israeli networks showed a completely burned out bus, but another was on fire.
Israeli media said bus drivers across the country were asked to stop and inspect their buses for possible additional explosive devices.
