Los Angeles Metro Removes Bus Ads for Melania Trump’s Documentary
Los Angeles Metro has decided to take down a bus featuring an advertisement for First Lady Melania Trump’s new documentary, due to concerns about vandalism.
Transport officials stated that the buses displaying the documentary were being redirected to avoid potential acts of vandalism, as reported by NBC Los Angeles. “The buses are operating normally, but we’ve noticed an increase in vandalism incidents over the last few years,” they remarked to Fox Los Angeles.
This decision comes after numerous incidents of vandalism at bus stops, where various posters and advertisements had been defaced. Metro officials felt compelled to act proactively to preserve the integrity of their vehicles.
After the ad for the Melania movie led to significant defacement at bus stops throughout the city, the transit authority reassigned some of these buses to different routes to minimize further damage.
Social media users shared video evidence of the vandalism, including footage of someone attempting to remove offensive markings from an advertising sign.
Interestingly, this move raised some eyebrows and led to speculation that the Metro may have been deliberately suppressing the documentary’s advertisements.
