Digital news site Business Insider announced Monday that it had named Jamie Heller as its new editor-in-chief, replacing Nicholas Carlson, who announced his retirement from the role earlier this year.
Heller has been with The Wall Street Journal for more than 20 years, where he covered global business and technology topics, including AI and the dominance of tech giants.
“I've been a fan of Business Insider for many years and signed up a few years ago because I had to. It's that great a magazine. Now I'm incredibly excited to lead this great publication to new heights,” Heller said in a statement.
Carlson announced his intention to step down from his current role in May and said he would remain with the company as editor-in-chief after a new editor-in-chief was appointed.

Founded in 2007 by German media conglomerate Axel Springer, the news site Business Insider started out as Silicon Alley Insider, focusing on startups and technology, but over time has expanded to cover finance, markets, and a variety of other industries.
