Byron Donald Discusses Israel’s Shift in Tactics Against Iran
Florida Republican Rep. Byron Donald made an appearance on Newsmax recently, where he speculated that Israel will adapt its strategies in response to the ongoing conflict with Iran.
This discussion followed Israeli forces’ recent attack targeting key Iranian figures, including commanders from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard and nuclear specialists, as well as major nuclear sites.
During the segment, Donald suggested that Israel might adopt more innovative tactics. He acknowledged past discussions about the situation in Iran, reiterating that the U.S. does not aim to control the country.
He pointed to Iran’s internal challenges, referencing the 2009 Green Revolution, when citizens attempted to overthrow the regime. Donald also criticized former President Barack Obama’s approach to Iran during that time.
“We have to remember the events of 2009. There was a wave of protests against this oppressive regime, yet the Obama administration largely overlooked it and focused on negotiating,” Donald said.
He emphasized the desire for change among the Iranian populace, contrasting this with the regime’s oppressive nature and its nuclear ambitions. He noted, “The Iranian people want a different future. It’s essential to recognize that there are citizens who oppose the current leadership.”
The Iranian leadership continues to impose strict controls, suppressing dissent and limiting freedoms in both social and political spheres. Donald remarked that the government prioritizes funding foreign militant groups while neglecting its own citizens, resulting in widespread poverty.
Following an Israeli strike on Iranian leadership and nuclear facilities, Iran retaliated on Friday with missile launches that struck several cities, injuring at least five people. Israeli defense systems intercepted many of these incoming threats.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared that the nation would persist in its military efforts against Iran until the perceived dangers were neutralized. In a lengthy address, he condemned the Iranian leadership for pursuing actions that threaten Israel’s existence, claiming that Iran is intensifying its uranium production aimed at developing nuclear weapons.
After the Israeli attacks, former President Trump mentioned that while the U.S. was aware of the operations beforehand, it did not participate directly. He remarked, “Iran cannot possess a nuclear bomb and simultaneously expect to negotiate.”
