Caitlin Clark Shines in Historic WNBA Performance
Caitlin Clark had an extraordinary outing on Friday night.
In a thrilling match, she tallied a career-high 45 points, guiding the Indiana Fever to a 110-107 victory over the Seattle Storm. She shot 11-of-18 from the field, also racking up 10 assists, four steals, and two blocks.
This memorable performance made her the first player in WNBA history to score at least 40 points and 10 assists in a single game.
“I thought I was aggressive from the beginning,” Clark shared in a sideline interview after the game. “If you miss a shot, you just have to come back and make the next one. Our team needed me to step up. This game was great, but let’s move on to the next one.”
Her 45 points marked a significant leap from her previous career-high of 35 points, achieved during her rookie season against the Wings.
Notably, this performance also set a new record for the most points scored by an Indiana Fever player in a single game.
Reflecting on her achievement, Clark said, “It’s cool, but I don’t really care. I know what I’m capable of and what this team can do. It’s my job to help us win and be the best team in the WNBA.” She added, “I don’t think we’re there yet, and it’s my responsibility to get us there, so we’re going to keep trying.”
During the game, Clark also set a record by becoming the fastest player in WNBA history to hit 200 career 3-pointers, achieving this milestone in just 74 games—surpassing Katie Smith’s previous record.
Prior to the game, Fever coach Stephanie White informed the press that Clark would be on a minutes limit due to a lingering lower back injury sustained at the start of the 2026 season.
After all was said and done, Clark played 29 minutes—right in line with her average playing time this season. “I have to believe that nights like this can happen,” she remarked, reflecting on her performance and the possibilities ahead.
