Caitlin Clark excited after Angel Reese is penalized for traveling

Kate Rinkler and Angel Lease Clash This Saturday

This Saturday featured an exciting matchup between the Fever and the Sky in the Commissioners Cup. Fans can catch the game on CBS national broadcasts, as it’s been relocated to the Bulls United Center due to demand.

Interestingly, Clark, who is still recovering from a quad injury sustained last month, wasn’t the only source of drama in this encounter. The 2024 rookie and former LSU star were at the center of attention during Fever’s decisive 79-52 victory.

In the third quarter, there was a moment when Reese had a travel violation called against her while attempting a shot. This got Clark so pumped that she jumped from the bench, making a hand gesture to signify the call.

The broadcast captured Clark turning to the crowd, indicating that the Fever had possession, which stirred up quite the reaction online, considering their history dating back to their college days.

This was their second matchup of the season. In their first encounter on May 17, drama also unfolded. During that game, Reese snatched an offensive rebound after a teammate’s misstep, and Clark responded by delivering a hard push that prevented Reese from making her shot.

Reese quickly retaliated, voicing her displeasure as she chased after Clark. Following a review, Clark received a Flagrant 1 foul, and both players were handed technical fouls.

Saturday marked a tough day for the Sky, adding another loss to their season, bringing the total to five.

Despite scoring only four points, Reese had a solid performance, going 7-7 from the field, collecting 12 rebounds, and contributing two assists. On the other hand, Clark, sidelined for a couple of weeks, still managed to stay active from the bench.

While watching the game, she took on a role as an associate assistant coach, sharing her insights with officials at halftime during a close 83-77 loss to the Mystic. It was noted that she was also reviewing video replays throughout the game.

At halftime, Clark was seen holding a paper and gestured towards the court. She engaged with an Indiana assistant, trying to communicate with the referees before leaving the court.
