Conservative podcast host Megyn Kelly, like many of us, dismissed Clark's stupid comments. She accused the former Iowa State Hawkeye of being “fake” and “apologizing for being white.”

“Look at this,” Kelly wrote on Twitter. “[Clark]is just getting down on his knees and apologizing for being white and for the attention he's drawn. Self-flagellation. “ah” [please] Really (sic) look at the black athletes you want to celebrate. ”Condescending. fake. Transparent. sad. “

Time magazine hosted a dinner at Current at Chelsea Piers in New York City on Wednesday, and during the event, NBC's Malia Taylor asked Clark about the criticism he received from Kelly.

“I feel like I've always had a very good perspective on everything that's happened in my life, whether it was good or bad, and obviously coming to the WNBA — like I said. “I feel like everything that's happened to me throughout my career has been earned,” Clark told Taylor.

“But I've also been a fan of this league since I was little. My favorite player was Maya Moore. I know what this league was…because it's only been over 25 years. , I know there's been a lot of great Black women in this league, and it's very important to keep them uplifted and that's what I think I'm very conscious of.”
