Caitlyn Clark Celebrates Boyfriend’s Birthday After Victory

Caitlyn Clark shared more than just a win on Sunday. After her strong performance against the Wings, she took to Instagram to celebrate her boyfriend Conor McCaffery’s birthday with a heartfelt message to her 3.5 million followers.

“Happy Happy Birthday Konko,” she wrote. “You make every day better, and I couldn’t be more grateful. This might be the best year yet. I love you.”

In her post, she included three pictures of the couple, one showing McCaffery playing a board game with her.

The pair have been dating for over two years, back to their days at the University of Iowa.

While Clark has made a name for herself on the Hawkeyes women’s basketball team, McCaffery played 89 games over six years for the men’s team, coached by Clark’s father, Fran.

He averaged 4.5 points across 166 games during his career in Iowa.

Now, McCaffery is an assistant coach for Butler’s men’s basketball, which keeps him nearby as Clark continues her journey.

They openly support one another, with Clark recently showing her backing for Butler’s entire team, gifting them Nike Kobe 5 player edition sneakers.

After McCaffery’s team defeated Indiana, Clark shared a touching post to commemorate him.

In the Fever’s 102-83 win over the Wings, where Paige Bueckers shined, Clark contributed significantly with 14 points, 13 assists, and five steals.

This season has been a bit of a challenge for Clark, who faced some struggles with her play and ongoing injuries.

Currently, she averages 16.9 points, 8.6 assists, and 4.9 rebounds per game, shooting 37.6% from the field and 28.9% from three-point range.

However, Sunday’s win marked the Fever’s second consecutive victory, placing them at 11-10, which is the sixth-best record in the WNBA.
