Dan Dakich discusses Indiana Fever coach’s response to Republican letter

Sports commentator Dan Dakich expressed his discontent with Indiana Fever head coach Stephanie White’s vague reaction to a letter from the Republican Party addressed to the WNBA. The letter raised concerns about the treatment of Caitlin Clark, with speculation that some critiques were racially charged. Dakich highlighted the coach’s apparent failure to protect Clark, as well as the perceived lack of support from the league, especially with Congress stepping into the situation.

The Indiana Fever maintained their winning streak on Wednesday night, convincingly beating the Connecticut Sun 123-88, marking their third consecutive victory. Caitlin Clark, recently announced as the cover athlete for NBA 2K27, contributed significantly with 27 points and 11 assists, achieving yet another double-double.

Kelsey Mitchell, a teammate of Clark, also stood out by scoring 23 points, helping the Fever set a new franchise record for points in a game.

Aliyah Boston, the top pick from the 2023 WNBA Draft, added 22 points to the team’s total.

The Fever showcased their strength by having the highest-scoring first half in franchise history, leading 70-46 at halftime. This game marked the third-highest scoring match in league history that didn’t go into overtime.

Monique Billings and Tyasha Harris each contributed 12 points for Indiana, who excelled from beyond the arc, hitting 11 of 22 attempts.

Clark finished the first half with 21 points before heading to the locker room.

Looking ahead, the Fever are set to participate in All-Star Week, with Clark, Boston, and Mitchell representing Indiana in Chicago.

With this latest victory, the Fever’s record improved to 17-10, placing them just half a game behind Angel Reese and the Atlanta Dream as they head into the All-Star break, perched atop the Eastern Conference standings.
