Caitlin Clark’s Boyfriend Posts Strong Reaction After His Father Is Ejected from Game, Fired by Iowa After 15 Years

For nearly 20 years, Fran McCaffrey has been a courtside fixture for the Iowa Hawkeyes. Well, after missing two NCAA tournaments and then missing a double technical in a blown loss to Illinois, he's gone.

The video circulated Thursday night and showed an angry and infuriated McCaffrey in the second half of a 106-94 defeat to rival Illini.

To add shaming to the injury, Iowa fired McCaffrey after 15 years of the men's basketball program. Conor McCaffrey, the boyfriend of WNBA star Kate Linklark and former Iowa boys basketball player, took him to X to let him know his thoughts on his father's shooting and posted three clown emojis.

Connor then reposted a photo of his father's 200th college victory and a video of his father's tearful comments following Iowa's victory over Rutgers.

Both Connor and his brother Patrick played college basketball.

Connor is currently the assistant coach for Butler. Of course, he is much better known as Caitlyn Clark's boyfriend. Despite his father's uneasy exit, Iowa will likely continue to hold a special place for Connor. That's where he played 166 games from 2017 to 2023, where he met Caitlyn Clark, the greatest women's college basketball player of all time.

Connor's Butler team suffered a loss that was blown away by St. John's on Thursday, 78-57. As for Kate Linklark, the WNBA will start again on May 16th.
