Watkins, 19, will begin rehabilitation after undergoing season-ending surgery. USC has announced.
The sophomore guard suffered a knee injury just five minutes into the game. This took place at Gallen Center in Los Angeles, home to the Trojan horses.
Watkins drove into the basket on a fast break, fouled between two bulldog defenders, then fell to the floor and grabbed her knee in pain.
She was taken from court and did not return to the bench.
Disturbed by Watkins' devastating injuries, the crowd later booed whenever the bulldog touched the ball.
Before the injury, Watkins had an incredible year – averaged 24.6 points, 7 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 2.3 steel, 1.8 blocks.
Watkins played a pivotal role in helping the Trojans secure one of the best species in this year's NCAA tournament.
USC punched tickets to Sweet 16 on Monday heading into its second straight season.
They arrived at the Elite 8 last year and lost to UConn Huskies.
The Trojans will face Kansas State on Saturday in the Sweet 16 at the Spokane Arena in Washington.
