Caitlin Clark’s Fever Has More Nationally Televised Games Than the Defending WNBA Champions

The basketball game featuring superstar Caitlyn Clark is airing nationwide rather than defending the WNBA champions.

Six games with Indiana Fever have been moved to a larger venue. Fox Newsthe team is scheduled to play 41 of the 44 games on national television this season.

“This is a nationwide game for any team in the league, and even more than the champion New York Liberty, which exhibits 33 games on national television,” the report added.

At least one WNBA player, Nafisa Collier of the Minnesota Links, called it “crazy.”

“Obviously people want to see Kaitlyn play. And you have to put people on TV that people want to watch. But at the same time, there are stars throughout the league and you want a good basketball too,” Collier said on ESPN. Take it first. “Obviously Indiana is going to be a great team, but I think it's a bit crazy to not have a defending champion on TV.”

Collier added that he didn't want to see a nationwide broadcast game filmed from Indiana, but hoped that other teams would be given the opportunity to be in the spotlight.

“It doesn't have to be a place where you're stealing the game from Indiana, but I think you can also level up the video game for other teams. [The Fever] You need to use those amounts of games on TV on Primetime, but I think other teams should have more than what they have,” Collier says.

As Breitbart News reported last June, then-Rookie star Caitlin Clark gave the WNBA such an impression, boosting its ratings and attendees to be recorded in the first month of the new season.

“Around 400,000 fans participated in the WNBA game during May, earning the largest attendance in 26 years in the season-opening match. The league boasted that over half of all WNBA games were sold out, a 156% increase from the previous year,” he reported. New York Post.

WNBA Arenas has filled up to 94% of the capacity nationwide, and reported that WNBA games have an average of 1.32 million viewers on Big Networks ABC, ESPN, ESPN2 and CBS. In 2023, the WNBA averaged 462,000 viewers.

“What's happening now with women's basketball is a confirmation of what we always know. There's demand and women's sports are a valuable investment,” said Cory Edison, the chief growth officer, in a statement at the time. “We are encouraged by the growing engagement across all industries, particularly welcoming a new and diverse audience to our fandom. The WNBA continues to experience sustained growth as the league embraces this growing momentum.”
