Caitlin Clark’s offseason will include a sitdown with David Letterman

Caitlin Clark will take the stage with David Letterman next month as part of a lecture series at Ball State that the former late-night legend has hosted since 2008.

Clark will appear Dec. 2 at the university's Emens Auditorium in Muncie, Indiana, with the event kicking off at 7 p.m.

“David Letterman is our university's most famous alumnus. He is a native Hoosier and a national icon, and Caitlin Clark quickly became a beloved Hoosier and national star,” Ball State said. University President Jeffrey S. Mearns said. stated in a statement. “We expect their conversation to be very special. On behalf of Ball State, we are honored to host them.”

The event is part of the David Letterman Distinguished Professional Lecture and Workshop Series, which has previously hosted television legend Oprah Winfrey and entrepreneur Biz Stone.

Ball State seems like the right setting for Clark, who rose to superstardom with the Indiana Fever after the team selected him No. 1 overall in the WNBA Draft, to compete during the offseason.

Clark broke multiple WNBA and Fever records during this summer's Rookie of the Year campaign, and the phenom led the franchise to a playoff berth.

Clark broke the league's rookie records for most points (769 points) and most 3-point shots (122).

Her 337 assists were both a rookie record and a WNBA single-season record.

Letterman went to see Clark play at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in August, and the two posed for a photo together after the game.

Clark has been busy throughout his first offseason as a professional player.

She almost made a hole-in-one on the links last month and attended Taylor Swift's concert at Lucas Oil Stadium earlier this month.

She also attended Stephanie White's inaugural press conference as the Fever's next head coach.
