Caitlin Clark is truly a generational athlete. Clark was one of the best players in women's college basketball from the moment she stepped on the court at Iowa, leading the nation in scoring as a freshman in 2020-2021 and remaining the nation's leading scorer in 2021. and Clarke's prodigious ability eventually earned her a national following as she led the Hokies to consecutive Final Four appearances, breaking college basketball's all-time men's and women's scoring records in the process. As Clark's star continues to rise, more and more people are interested in how she developed into one of America's most famous athletes. One anecdote often featured is that Clark was also a great soccer player as a freshman at Dowling Catholic High School in West Des Moines, Iowa, but quit soccer to focus on basketball. Clark reportedly scored an astounding 26 goals in six games and was selected All-State. According to the Des Moines Register.
