This was one of the best games for a Bears rookie quarterback since the Cade McNown era in 1999.

It wasn't a good start for Williams. He made an interception early in the first half, with his team trailing 3-0 when a bizarre throw hit offensive lineman Matt Pryor in the facemask.

Early in the second quarter, Williams led a seven-play, 81-yard drive that ended with an impressive double fake and throw to tight end Cole Kmet, who ran for a 31-yard touchdown.

Towards the end of the quarter, Williams took on the Bears on a 10-play, 85-yard drive that ended with a 2-yard touchdown pass to Kmet. The tight end had two touchdown catches in the game.

Williams' touchdown target in the second half was Keenan Allen.

The Bears started after the Jaguars added to their special teams. The rookie quarterback threw a 9-yard touchdown pass to Allen, capping a seven-play, 41-yard drive.

Then, to start the fourth quarter, Williams found Allen with a lob into the corner of the end zone. At that point he led the Bears with 18 points and the game was out of reach.

Williams almost gave DJ Moore his fifth touchdown pass, but officials brought Moore down before he could reach the goal line. They allowed one point to D'Andre Swift with 12 minutes and 29 seconds left.

Kmet had five catches for 70 yards. Allen added five catches for 41 yards.

Swift led the Bears with 91 yards.

Trevor Lawrence tried to get the Jaguars back in the game.

Gabe Davis' 21-yard touchdown pass with 6:02 left in the third quarter cut the deficit to 11 points. However, he was unable to produce good results due to poor interceptions and poor defense.

He and David connected in the fourth quarter, but by then it was too little, too late. The Jaguars replaced him with Mac Jones before the end of the game.

He completed 23 of 35 for 234 passing yards and was sacked three times.
