A Southern California father who shot and killed his four children and his mother-in-law was sentenced Wednesday to life in prison without parole, court witnesses told the Post.
Garmarcus Lamar David, 32, was found guilty on March 12 of five counts of murder and three counts of child assault resulting in death for the November 28, 2021 incident. According to abc7.
Lancaster’s family neighbors I heard gunshots and screams on the night of the shooting, according to local reports.
“Within about two minutes of him entering the house, we started hearing gunshots,” one neighbor recalled, according to ABC7.
The children’s mother eventually discovered the bodies of the four children and their mother when she returned home that night. Neighbors saw her run outside screaming, “The baby’s gone!” Everyone is dead! ”
The coroner’s office identified the victims as David’s four children. Germarcus David Jr., 7 years old. Kaden David, 2; 19-month-old Noah David and his grandmother Erica England, 51, a veteran correctional officer at Lancaster Prison.
David turned himself in to the Lancaster Sheriff’s Office shortly after his wife discovered the body of his loved one.
“No family should have to endure this type of tragedy, especially when the alleged perpetrator was responsible for protecting the family,” Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascon said when David’s indictment was announced. Even more so,” he said in a statement.
“Our office has reached out to the family to ensure they receive all the services and support they need during this difficult time,” he said.
Garmarcus David was a certified security guard and had a gun license, which expired in August 2020.
