California's LGBTQ Caucus has been “fed up and tired” by comments by Gov. Gavin Newsom, calling the participation of men who identify transgenders in women's sports teams “deeply unfair.”

“The path to 2028 is not paved with the betrayal of vulnerable communities. It is based on the courage to stand up to the right and actually make an effort to help the American people,” the Human Rights Campaign said.
Equality Jorge Reyes Salinas also said his remarks were shocking.
“Throughout his career, I know that Governor Newsom is a leader in LGBTQ issues,” Reyes Salinas said. “We demand that he continues to do so to protect and advocate the rights and dignity of all LGBTQ people.
