The California mother, who had planned to divorce her husband before he mysteriously disappeared last year, was the victim of the murder, police revealed Friday in a shocking update on a 10-month investigation.
Nikki Chan Sally McCain was last asked since May 18, 2024, 10 days after texting her loved ones about her plans to end her 15-year marriage with her husband, Tyler McCain.
The missing person report filed on May 22, 2024 with the mothers of four has been upgraded to a homicide investigation. Shasta County Sheriff's Office announcement.
“Based on the evidence collected, information learned from the interviews, and the fact that none of Nikki's family had heard from Nikki since May 18, 2024, detectives determined that Nikki was the victim of the murder,” the Sheriff's Office said.
Authorities have executed multiple search warrants throughout the incident and identified several “people of interest” on suspicion of murder.
Police have not publicly identified people due to the “continued nature of the investigation.”
The team, including the Sheriff's Office, the FBI and Homeland Security agents, provided a search warrant at Saelee-Mcain's last known residence on Friday, and she was reported missing.
According to a photo from Street View, the property in the 17,000 block of Orinda Road in Anderson, California, featured multiple cars in a garden surrounded by gate fences.
Police are looking for a red-colored truck driver who welcomed an adult male in a rural community in Platinum, California between May 18th and May 25th, 2024.
The area is located 45 miles southwest of Anderson House.
Authorities have not filed accusations in the case and have interviewed Saelee-McCain's family, friends and acquaintances about the information.
The mother of a family receives messages from four about her desire to leave her husband, who was charged with felony domestic violence. McCain was on trial on charges of felony abuse of his wife.
Saelee-McCain claimed that her husband was “intentionally killing her.”
Tyler McCain was accused of tying her to his wife and grossingly bastarded her in the house for more than three hours. He was never named a suspect for her loss.

Saelee revealed last year that police have been called to their homes multiple times as McCain has become more and more violent since the pandemic.
Saelee said her sister is looking forward to her new life in her new home and has won her children in the divorce.
“She was really excited. She was looking at the furniture for her new location and ready to leave Tyler and divorce him forever.” I told the US sun.
“She was really confident and determined, and she was ready to take those next steps,” she added.
On March 10th, McCain made his voice for the first time since his wife disappeared.
“I wasn't in the public eye… I'm not doing very well with that.” He told KHSL. “I apologize to everyone, especially my children, my wife's family, mine.”
The charges against McCain were dropped after the loss of his wife.
He pleaded not guilty to the attack and claimed that his wife was injured in a fight with someone else.
Authorities are offering a total reward of up to $30,000 for information that leads to Saelee-McCain locations.
