On HBO's “real-time” broadcast on Friday, host Bill Maher claimed he “can't do anything” about the taxes and regulations that Democrats are ousting people, and argued that California needs someone like Elon Musk, who runs “in a sane way.”
After talking about the prediction that some blue states will lose their population and some red states will get, Maher said, “The reason people are voting on their feet is because there's a lot about what your book is, taxes and regulations. I'm certainly screaming that. I'm just burning a new roof. [don’t] Feel the heavy breath of government in them. It's not that difficult for Democrats to understand this, but it seems they can't do anything about it. ”
Later, Maher said.[W]e needs California to do what he is doing to the government in a sane way. If you have 400,000 regulations and you can't build a high-speed rail that started in 2008, then someone has to come here. ”
