A California sheriff has complained that he’s been misrepresented on the record after finding himself featured in a new Kamala Harris political ad promoting border security.

“In light of Kamala Harris’ recent political advertisements featuring Sheriff Boudreau and local law enforcement, the Sheriff wants to clarify that his likeness has been used without permission and that he is not endorsing Ms. Harris for President or any other political office,” Tulare County Sheriff Mike Boudreau said in a statement to Fox News Digital.

Boudreau, who worked for the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office for 37 years and is now president of the California Sheriffs’ Association, recounted a visit he made to the Central Valley in 2013 when Harris was California’s attorney general.

The video shows Boudreau and other local and state law enforcement while Harris was in the Central Valley, and while Harris couldn’t recall the circumstances, he did remember her demeanor during the visit.

“In fact, I want to point out the misleading information displayed in that same political ad, which claims Harris has fought violent crime for decades as a ‘border state prosecutor.’ The fact is that ‘then-California Attorney General Kamala’ came to California in 2014 and touted her years of investigations into transnational drug cartels with ties to Mexican drug cartels and prison gangs,” Boudreau said.

Boudreau said 11 people have been arrested in the case, including Dinuba’s suspected “ringleader,” Jose Magana.

“The truth is, Harris doesn’t care about the drug cartels at all and has done nothing to stop people from crossing the border illegally,” Boudreau said.

Boudreau added that Harris’ appearance was all “a sham.”

“We were in the waiting room, she came in and didn’t say hello to any of us, she came out front, did the press conference and literally walked out and didn’t say hello to any of us,” Boudreau said. “She didn’t shake hands, she didn’t say hello, and she took credit for all the work that the locals did, so it just disgusts me.”

Boudreau’s political action committee, Golden State Justice, also released a statement about the new campaign ads.

“As Attorney General, Kamala Harris has undermined California law enforcement’s efforts to stop criminals from crossing the border and streaming guns and drugs into the state,” the statement said.

“She has repeatedly defunded and shut down task forces established to protect our residents, leaving our valley and state vulnerable,” the statement continued. “Kamala’s sad attempt to portray herself as tough on the border by implying support from me and our neighboring law enforcement leaders is pathetic.”

The statement concludes, “It’s clear that the politicians who crowd the podium at press conferences are not solving the border crisis, and that includes Kamala Harris.”

The new ad touts Harris’ work as a border state prosecutor, claiming she will “hire thousands of more Border Patrol agents and crack down on fentanyl and human trafficking.”

“How can you advertise that you were tightly guarding the border when the military is coming across the border and literally removing all the special forces? We were totally outraged,” Boudreau said.

Boudreau said the Justice Department was making cuts at the time, so there were a lot of people being laid off and looking for work.

“If you look at that ad and do a little research, you’ll see that what she was promoting was completely at odds with what was going on at the time, so when she put my picture up, I was really upset. That ad was a total sham,” Boudreau said. “I do not support her.”
