“My heart breaks for the victims and their families. This is an unimaginable tragedy. However, it is highly unlikely that Mr. Dyer will be extradited under any administration,” a spokesperson for Gascón's office said. told FOX 11. There are five factors that the juvenile court considered and would have considered in determining whether Mr. Dyer was suitable to remain in a juvenile detention center. ”
“Of these five factors, only one of the factors supported transfer to adult court: the circumstances and the seriousness of the offense,” the spokesperson said. All other factors favored Mr. Dyer remaining in juvenile detention. Given this, it is highly unlikely that Mr. Dyer would have been transferred to the adult system even if the court had conducted a transfer hearing.

The spokesperson said the other four factors were that Dyer was under the influence of and acted on the direction of an adult male, which indicates she did not exhibit a high degree of criminal sophistication. There is. She had no significant criminal history at the time. The time and opportunity left to rehabilitate her in the juvenile system at that time, and the lack of opportunity thus far to rehabilitate her in the juvenile system.
According to Fox 11, the District Attorney's Juvenile Alternative Claims Evaluation Committee (JACE) was established in March 2022. Since then, 23 applications for transfer to adult court have been approved by JACE.
