California’s OnlyFans Spending Sets Records
Californians have really embraced OnlyFans. Last year, they spent a remarkable $350.6 million on this subscription-based platform. In Los Angeles alone, residents racked up $71.3 million—making it one of the highest totals in the nation.
With this spending, LA falls just behind New York City regarding total expenditures across the U.S., based on an analysis from the OnlyFans search engine, OnlyGuider. To put it into perspective, Angelenos were shelling out roughly $195,000 daily for content.
This hefty sum accounts for about 13% of national OnlyFans spending, making California the leading state in terms of total dollars spent. It’s quite eye-opening, really, seeing how profitable the adult content subscription market is here.
As noted in the report, “No other state matches California in its raw economic contribution to the creator economy, even though its considerable population dilutes its per capita intensity.”
It seems that funds were flowing from Southern California to the Bay Area, but notably not into Los Angeles. For context, San Diego chipped in about $21.3 million, while San Francisco and San Jose each spent about $11.7 million. Fresno, the fifth-highest contributor, spent around $4.5 million.
Looking ahead, Los Angeles County is expected to spend a staggering $105.5 million in 2025, with a striking 70% ($73.8 million) allocated for direct messages and personalized pay-per-view content. This trend suggests that fans are increasingly opting for customized interactions over mere subscriptions.
Creating customized PPVs allows creators to charge higher rates since they craft specific videos and photos based on fans’ requests. Typically, subscription costs for accounts range anywhere from $4.99 to $49.99 per month.
While LA has the highest OnlyFans spending, other areas also demonstrated notable participation. Long Beach came in second with $3.8 million, followed by West Hollywood with $1.9 million.
