A Southern California woman was stabbed to death with a samurai sword, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said in a case investigators believe stemmed from a domestic dispute.
Police said they responded to a domestic disturbance call in San Dimas around 3:30 p.m. Thursday and found the body of a woman with stab wounds. press release.
The first person they encountered was a woman with a bloody sword in her right leg, KTLA report.
Footage obtained by the media outlet shows the unidentified woman waving away approaching officers, then putting down her sword and raising her hands to comply with their commands.

The women involved only speak Chinese.
The footage shows cuts on the woman’s legs and leaves a trail of blood as she moves.

“The woman then led officers to a home down the street where officers found another woman with lacerations, who was later pronounced deceased at the scene,” LAPD Lt. Daniel Vizcarra told KTLA reporters. “As officers continued to search the home, they found another woman inside, uninjured, who was also transported to a local hospital for emergency medical treatment.”
The media reported that the medical emergency was suspected to have been a heart attack.
The woman with the sword appears to only speak Mandarin and the motive for the stabbing remains unclear.
“Preliminary investigations suggest there may be a family relationship, but again, due to the language barrier, this cannot be confirmed,” Inspector Vizcarra explained.
