T&T Supermarkets Set to Open First Location in California

A well-known supermarket chain from Canada is making its way into California for the first time.

T&T Supermarkets, recognizable for its extensive offerings of prepared foods and bakery items, is set to open its initial store in San Jose next month. The announcement confirmed that the grand opening will take place on June 18.

The new supermarket will launch at the Westgate Center, located at 1600 Saratoga Street. Festivities kick off at 8 a.m. for the grand opening, with public access beginning at 9 a.m.

This San Jose branch marks T&T’s debut in California and is a significant milestone in its expansion into the United States market.

Aside from the San Jose location, T&T has plans to establish more stores in the Bay Area. Future openings are planned for Geary Boulevard near Masonic Avenue in San Francisco’s downtown area and at Friendship Plaza in Millbrae. These stores are anticipated to welcome shoppers in winter 2026, as reported.

The company noted that this San Jose store is just the first of several that will pop up across California.

“We’ve been looking forward to opening in San Jose,” said T&T CEO Tina Lee. “This store isn’t only about providing high-quality food; it’s about sharing a vibrant food culture from Canada—one that’s food-focused, celebratory, rich in traditions, and dedicated to freshness.”

Lee emphasized the intention of creating a space where Asian families can find a connection to their culinary roots while allowing everyone to explore Asian cuisine.

The Silicon Valley location will feature thousands of products from various Asian cuisines, including Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and more.

In addition, customers can expect T&T’s private label items like pork soup dumplings, green onion pancakes, kalbi sauce, and Taiwanese sausage.

Ahead of the opening, residents in California can register for free membership via the T&T app, which allows them to earn points and benefits.

From June 18 onward, shoppers will also be able to use T&T’s online grocery shopping services, including express delivery, in-store pickup, and postal delivery.

T&T originated in Vancouver in 1993 and is headquartered in Richmond, British Columbia, with additional offices in Toronto and Los Angeles. Currently, the chain operates more than 39 stores in Canada and the U.S., including its first American store, which launched in Bellevue, Washington, in 2024.
