Alex Cooper, host of the popular podcast “Call Her Daddy,” appears to be contradicting his claims that he would have welcomed President-elect Donald Trump to his show, saying the Trump campaign recently announced that her team reached out to him, but he made it clear that he was welcome to his show. He chose Kamala Harris instead.
In this week's interview new york timesAt the DealBook Summit, Alex Cooper confirmed that her team has spoken to the Trump campaign.
“Both sides reached out,” she said. “I had a Zoom call with Trump's team. I wasn't on it.” Cooper ultimately chose to have Vice President Kamala Harris on board.
Her decision to work solely with Harris appears to contradict her previous statements. October interview Mr. Cooper spoke with the vice president and insisted that Mr. Trump would be welcomed.
“To be clear, this is not a one-sided conversation, so we reached out to former President Donald Trump to appear on our show. If you'd like to have a meaningful and thorough conversation, you're always welcome to 'Call Her Daddy.'
It remains unclear why President Trump did not ultimately appear on the podcast.
inside her times In an interview with Dealbook Summit, Cooper denied reports that the Harris campaign spent $100,000 building a replica set in Washington, D.C., similar to the original “Call Her Daddy” studio.
“It’s not true,” she said. “My studio in Los Angeles is a luxury studio that doesn't cost six figures.”
Harris' appearance on “Call Her Daddy” was widely criticized as a contrived softball interview meant to make the candidate seem more likable to young women.
