There are worrying trends in the West: church attendance is falling and fewer people are identifying themselves as Christians. In the UK, atheism is the most popular religion, Christianity is declining, while Islam is on the rise due to mass immigration from the Middle East to Europe.
On “Zero Hour,” Calvin Robinson, a British conservative commentator, author and Scandinavian Catholic priest, discussed this trend with James Porath, explaining how the cult of woke progressivism is to blame.
Robinson believes that to solve this problem, the nation must “go back to its roots” and embrace Christianity – which, he believes, requires abandoning the aspirations for a secular, liberal utopia advocated by some on the right.
“The West was built on Christendom, and we have assumed that we can strip away its values and have a kind of neutrality, the idea that all ideas, all cultures, all religions are equal. But that’s not possible,” Robinson argues.
Secularism is rooted in moral subjectivity, and that is why it fails. Truth is objective, so not all faiths are equal. Christianity is either true or false. Therefore, if it is accurate, and Robinson strongly believes it is accurate, the state should accept it. But even if it isn’t, secularism is not the solution.
“Even if you don’t believe it [in Christ]”You have to believe in objective truth, or you’re going to become attached to anything,” Robinson tells Porras.
Furthermore, leftists do not want a morally neutral society where people are free to disagree; they advocate an extremely progressive society disguised as diverse.
“People who talk about diversity don’t want diversity of thought or opinion; they want superficial diversity, like skin color or immutable characteristics. People who talk about inclusion don’t want to accept people who have different opinions than their own,” Robinson says.
