Cam Ward Faces Pressure After Titans’ Winless Start
Cam Ward is certainly feeling the pressure in Nashville as the Titans have now dropped to 0-5 following their latest defeat.
The Titans’ offense struggled immensely, failing to score a single touchdown. During his postgame press conference, Ward completed 23 passes for 170 yards, but he was sacked four times, prompting a pointed question from a reporter.
Ward was asked if he had grown accustomed to losing. His response was immediate and firm: “No, I’m not a loser,” he stated. “Sure, the record might reflect that we are right now, but you often have to endure challenges to earn victories. We face this situation day in and day out, and while it might look bleak, I believe in the talent in our locker room. We’ve all had our successes before, and we’re eager to reclaim that in the future.”
Despite Ward’s attempts to remain optimistic, the reality for the Titans this season is tough. He has, as of now, completed 98 passes for 896 yards over five games, with his three passing touchdowns matched equally by three interceptions.
While it’s clear Ward is having a rough time, it seems the Titans are sticking with him as their starting quarterback. Coach Robert Saleh expressed his confidence in Ward by saying, “Cam’s our starting quarterback. We’re committed to giving him every chance to succeed this season, and we’ll keep working closely with him to help him improve.”
The Titans’ offense is currently one of the NFL’s least effective, averaging just 246.4 total yards per game, which puts them dead last in the league. They’re also scoring a mere 11.6 points per game, which is, you guessed it, the worst in the NFL.
