Camden’s controversial high school basketball win over Manasquan upheld

The New Jersey Department of Education secretary upheld the agency’s ruling on Camden’s controversial buzzer-beater victory over Manasquan in the state semifinals. According to News 12 New Jersey.

Manasquan sought legal action after the referees’ decision on Griffin Linstra’s buzzer-beater was overturned, giving Camden a 46-45 victory and a berth in the state title game.

But video evidence showed Linstra’s shot missed before the clock hit zero, prompting legal action from Manasquan authorities.

Judge Mark Troncone denied a motion to postpone the Group 2 championship game scheduled for Saturday, even though the New Jersey Interscholastic Athletic Association acknowledged the final decision was in error.

The Manasquan School District has filed an appeal, an attorney told News 12.
