Canada’s Conservative leader shuts down journalist’s question about other genders: ‘I’m only aware of 2’

When asked about President Donald Trump's executive order rejecting transgender ideology, Conservative Party of Canada Leader Pierre Poièvre challenged journalists to name genders other than “male and female.”

On his first day in office, President Trump declared, “As of today, it is the official policy of the United States government going forward that there are only two genders: male and female.'' The executive order “Protecting Women from Gender Ideological Extremism and Restore Biological Truth to the Federal Government'' was part of a series of reforms to address the excesses of far-left identity politics in the U.S. government.

The moderator repeated his question, “I'm just asking more if you agree with what he's saying. You agree with what he's saying. Is that something you would do if you were elected prime minister?”

“Well, I don't know about any gender other than male and female. So if there's anything else you'd like me to consider, tell me right now,” the Canadian conservative leader said.

“Yeah, yeah, yeah…Personally, I'm a man,” Perkins tried to explain, noting that some people would call him a “cis man.”

“Me too. I'm a man too,” Poièvre replied, adding, “We have something in common.”

“Yes, you're a man,” Perkins said. “There are people out there who say they're gender neutral, oh, they're transgender. Can that be recognized here? Whereas in America, at least in the U.S. government, they're That's how I see it.'' Oh, are there only two? ”
