Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was spotted partying at a Taylor Swift concert this weekend as pro-Palestinian protesters ran through downtown Montreal, setting fires and looting. There's a big fire going on.
Prime Minister Trudeau, who is Labor leader and prime minister and also represents Papineau, part of Montreal, in parliament, came to Toronto, about 530 miles away, for a Swift concert while his hometown burned to the ground. Critics have accused him of having done so. .
Amid news of the riots in Montreal, a carefree Prime Minister Trudeau was seen dancing to Swift's song “You Don't Own Me” which went viral online. fox news Reported.
As Trudeau danced, crowds protesting NATO and Israel set off smoke bombs, burned effigies of Israeli leader Benjamin Netanyahu, damaged buildings and cars, and held up pro-Palestinian flags and banners. It was paraded through the streets of Montreal.
Montreal Police Public Relations Officer Veronique Duvac said At least three people were arrested for interfering with police. One civilian and several police officers sustained minor injuries. But protesters said nearly six people were injured by police and had to receive medical treatment.
The riot was reportedly organized by the “convergence of divestment and anti-capitalist struggles for Palestine.”
Prime Minister Trudeau called the riots “horrifying” and said of X: “Anti-Semitism, intimidation and violence must be condemned wherever it is seen. There must be consequences and the rioters must be held accountable. .”
But some MPs criticized Trudeau for dancing the night away as the crisis escalated.
Don Stewart, the Member of Parliament (MP) who represents part of Toronto, called on Canada to “restore law and order.”
“Lawless demonstrators wreak havoc over Montreal in a violent protest. The prime minister dances. This is Canada built by a Liberal government,” he said. I wrote “Restore law and order, safe streets and communities to the Canada we once knew and loved.”
Conservative Leader Pierre Poièvre also criticized the frivolity of Trudeau's concert, saying Trudeau was “too busy condemning the violent Hamas takeover of our streets.”
He also accused Prime Minister Trudeau of turning Canada into a “playground for foreign interference.”
Quebec Premier François Legault also criticized Trudeau, saying, “When you burn cars and break windows, you don't do it to send a message. You do it to cause chaos.” Such behavior cannot be tolerated in a peaceful society like Quebec. ”
