Former 1990s TV star Shannen Doherty has become a spokesperson for Kate Middleton, who was diagnosed with cancer, after the British royal family came under public criticism.
Doherty, who has been battling cancer herself since 2015 and recently announced that she had relapsed, spoke about Middleton in an Instagram post on Saturday.

“Being a public figure does not mean the public owns that person. We all have the right to experience illness and life privately,” Doherty wrote.
“An onslaught of conspiracy theories, ownership, and an obvious morbid curiosity forced this person to explain it himself before accepting it and explaining it to his children,” Doherty continued. Ta. “I pray that this is an opportunity for all of us to learn to respect privacy and respect others, whether in public or not.”

Last week, Middleton released a video talking about her cancer diagnosis and thanked everyone who wished her well.
“These past few months have been incredibly difficult for our entire family, but I am so grateful to have an amazing medical team that has taken such good care of me,” she said in the video.
Middleton added that she wanted to take time to get used to her condition “for the sake of her young family.”
“It took me a while to explain everything in the proper way to George, Charlotte and Louis and reassure them that I was okay,” she said.
