Candace Cameron Bure Releases New Book on Finding Joy and Strength
Actress Candace Cameron Bure has unveiled a new work aimed at empowering women to rediscover happiness and strength in their everyday lives through a connection with God, using Scripture and personal reflection.
“Prayer is a small but practical step towards reconnecting with God,” Bure shared regarding her new book, 100 Days of Joy and Strength: Every Day Prayer Journey. “I’m holding on to these two words: ‘The Lord’s joy is my strength’ from Nehemiah 8:10.”
In her latest effort, Bure presents herself as a woman of faith, sometimes, perhaps, underappreciated.
“This book is for those who feel alone in their battles,” she expressed. “Life throws challenges at us daily. All we can really do is encourage ourselves, reset our focus, and remember that God is with us. He listens to us.”
Bure also reflected on her journey as a mother of three, describing it as a challenging yet transformative time.
“That period was pivotal for me; I had to seek joy. I loved raising my kids, but it was, well, quite a struggle. Adjusting was tough and it altered my entire perspective,” she admitted.
She noted that each section of her book consists of a short reflection, a biblical passage, and prompts for personal contemplation, aimed at helping women reconnect with God in a meaningful manner.
“Whether you’re raising little ones, dealing with grief, or just feeling stuck, it serves as a reminder of who God is,” she said.
Bure emphasized the importance of providing women with prayers that are not just uplifting, but grounded in deeper understanding.
“I always want to understand the ‘why’ behind things,” she stated. “Why do we do what we do? Why is this knowledge important? It all returns to the teachings of the Bible. Everything should rest on a foundation of truth.”
Furthermore, the book highlights the distinction between fleeting happiness and enduring joy.
“There’s a significant difference; happiness stems from our circumstances,” she clarified. “Joy, on the other hand, is internal. It persists regardless of our external situations, rooted in our relationship with the Lord.”
Bure describes joy as having a “heavenly perspective,” one that anchors us in eternal truths rather than the ups and downs of daily life.
“No matter the circumstances, joy stands apart from happiness,” she pointed out.
As a prominent figure in the entertainment industry and now the Chief Content Officer for Great American Family, Bure indicated that she aims to spend daily time in Scripture to nurture a joyful life.
“It ultimately comes back to my time with the Lord. My routine might change, but I always prioritize engaging with God’s Word. If my joy comes from Him, then I need to truly know Him,” she concluded.
