Candace Owens Shares Details About Her Meeting With Erika Kirk

Candace Owens Discusses Meeting with TPUSA CEO Erica Kirk

Podcaster Candace Owens recently shared insights from her extensive meeting with Turning Point USA (TPUSA) CEO Erica Kirk, which lasted over four hours. The two met privately, and both later called the discussion “productive.” In a livestream, Owens pushed back against rumors that she had been pressured into the meeting with Kirk.

Owens expressed frustration about the backlash she faced for her tweets. “I sat down with Erica Kirk and reassured her that I’m okay. We had a very productive conversation,” she said. Despite speculation that she was somehow betraying her supporters, Owens attempted to clarify her stance, likening her situation to Kanye West’s comments about not being able to govern effectively.

The meeting began with an honest discussion about its intentions, with TPUSA’s Chief Operating Officer Justin Streiff stating he was upset about some of Owens’ previous remarks.

Owens recounted, “Justin wisely asked, ‘What is our goal here? What do we want to achieve?’ It was clear that they were taken aback by my tweet describing TPUSA as a ‘God-forsaken company’ and my suggestion that they shouldn’t receive donations.” She noted that Kirk admitted to some misunderstandings within the organization.

Owens aimed to determine if she could truthfully inform her audience that there was clear evidence identifying the shooter in a particular case. “I wanted to walk away feeling confident in saying that Tyler Robinson shot Charlie Kirk,” she explained, indicating that there were indications from various sources that crucial information remained hidden from the public.

The conversation shifted when Owens inquired about the basis for TPUSA’s confidence regarding the suspect’s guilt. She noted that the group decided to involve an attorney from the case for insight. “But from what we learned, there wasn’t any solid evidence that Tyler Robinson was the shooter,” Owens said.

She further elaborated that the attorney revealed that TPUSA had not obtained any evidence beyond what the public already knew. Any more revelations would likely come during a probable cause hearing scheduled for May.

“They’re still in the investigation phase. Erica has been named a victim. The evidence will be reviewed in May, and they’ll have to present solid proof to a judge,” Owens pointed out. “Until things are clearer, I find myself disagreeing with many of my peers — I don’t believe Tyler Robinson acted as the shooter.”

Earlier, SiriusXM host Megyn Kelly mentioned that Kirk had contacted her weeks prior to help arrange a meeting, with plans for potentially making the conversation public. While Kelly facilitated the negotiations, she noted that she chose to stay out of the public feud, asserting that she didn’t believe it was her place to criticize Owens openly.
