Introducing the CANiK Prime Radian
The CANiK Prime Radian is a 9mm pistol designed for everyday carry, built on the well-regarded METE MC9 PRIME platform and comes with premium components from Radian Weapons straight from the factory.
In terms of size, the Prime Radian is comparable to the Glock 19. It’s just under half an inch taller than the Glock, while the barrel is actually 0.09 inches shorter. They share a similar weight as well, making them closely matched in dimensions.
Now, let’s talk about the Prime Radian’s controls, sights, and other features.
The pistol has an ambidextrous slide stop, an aluminum flat-face trigger, night vision-compatible tritium sights both front and rear, and a clear loaded chamber indicator. It also comes with 17-round and 10-round magazines. The slide is designed with optics cuts for the Shield RMSc, CANiK ONYXc, and CANiK PHANTOMc, which allows for mounting a compatible red dot optic. The version we tested included the CANiK ONYXc already installed.
Included among the Radian Weapons components are a Radian Ramjet barrel and an afterburner compensator. Together, they offer consistent accuracy while minimizing muzzle rise—an important feature for maintaining control during follow-up shots, especially in critical scenarios.
About the accuracy, I began to understand what this pistol could do while loading the third magazine at a paper target set 20 feet away.
The Prime Radian also includes a Radian Weapons backstrap and a magazine well. The backstrap features deep serrations and is made of aluminum, enhancing grip stability. The added weight from the aluminum helps balance the gun, supporting the compensator’s role in keeping it steady during firing.
In summary, the CANiK Prime Radian performs exceptionally well right out of the box. It quickly reaches its target and serves effectively for both range use and personal defense. Moreover, with the Radian Weapons components already installed, you’re basically getting a customized pistol from the start.
