She was so mad.
A Cape Cod woman was arrested on suspicion of threatening a young golfer with a gun, but the weapon turned out to be a rubber dummy.
Crystal Lawson, 39, surrendered to police on Wednesday after armed officers surrounded her Marston Mills home following a tip from teenagers who were playing golf nearby.
According to the Barnstable Police Department, the teens were minding their own business during a round at the Old Barnstable Fairgrounds Golf Course just before 4 p.m. when an unstable woman appeared from a tree and ran into the yard. He reportedly yelled at her to stay away from him.
“When the golfers responded that they were not in her yard, she held out what appeared to be a black pistol and waved it at them.” the police said.
Golfers immediately reported the incident, and police closed off nearby roads in search of the suspect.
Once officers identified Lawson's property as the possible source of the threat, they quickly closed in and she emerged without incident, police said.
Officers found no weapons inside, but they did find two rubber guns and a replica pistol magazine.
Lawson was arrested and charged with two counts of assault with a dangerous weapon.
She was released on personal recognizance and is scheduled to appear in court Friday.
