Capital One / Discover deal may be back on, ETIAS entry program for EU delayed, and celebrating positive growth for Frequent Miler (Saturday Selection) – Frequent Miler

This Saturday, we'll be revisiting the upcoming ETIAS programme to bring Capital One/Discover Deal to a new look, and tapping on the back a bit!

According to a report from NYT

Remember when the Capital One/Discover deal went no go and everyone in the comments seemed happy to hear it? Well, it appears that the DOJ investigation has ended and eventually gave it a green light. The Federal Reserve and the OCC will conduct reviews with input from the DOJ. If you're one of those people rooted in this deal, don't worry, they're also waiting for feedback from the state attorney general in New York and California. That's not finished yet!

Revised EES and ETIAS Timelines

Greg has just written a post about his experience with the new “ETA” needed by US residents traveling to the UK, but as you might remember from the previous Saturday choice, there are similar additional steps to enter the EU, known as “ETIAS” (European Travel Information and Approval System). Previously, the update was scheduled for 2025, but the new timeline is considering launching in the second half of 2026.

Ranking of the March 2025 Frequent Flyer Sites: Frequent Mylar Jump 36%, Point Guy 21%, Dr. Credit is stable

If that characterizes us, will it still count as a Saturday choice from “around the web”? Gary Leff from the Wing regularly ranks the most popular websites in the Frequent Flyer Space (based on traffic) and uses sites called Similar Web For his traffic information. In this case, he compared traffic information this March to previous March and came up with some results that caught our attention. For example, our site traffic increased by 36% when many others (even the largest sites) lost traffic.

Tell me everything you want, when I read these quotes from his article, my eyes had literally someone happy in my eyes:

I think it's really impressive that anyone on this list writes for themselves or as a group of three or four. My must see is 1 mile per hour, Frequently mylarand I'll fly alive…

Then he continued to say…

If these numbers are accurate, the continuous strong performance by frequently mirrors is the real feather of the hat for that great team.

Needless to say, I am extremely proud of our team and this site. The winning strategy Greg has cultivated with Miller frequently is to make sure we are truly excited (and we can be proud). What Greg does is not only good for job satisfaction, but also for our website and readers.
