Capital One says ‘substantial progress’ has been made in addressing technical issue – KSTP

The company said a technical issue that prevented some Capital One users from depositing money into their accounts is evolving.

A Capital One spokesperson contacted 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS on Saturday to give an update on ongoing technical issues with a third-party vendor.

A spokesperson said Capital One had restored functionality to most users' accounts as of Saturday afternoon.

“Significant progress has been made in resolving third-party vendor issues with FIS,” a spokesperson said in a statement to 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS. “We have restored full account functionality for most customers, processed outstanding transactions, and are completing our work to restore full service to all customers as quickly as possible. We are aware of the frustration this issue has caused and will continue to provide updates. We sincerely apologize to our valued customers.”

The outage has been ongoing since Thursday, and Capital One said it expects the problem to be resolved by Friday.

But the problems persisted into Saturday, with customers continuing to say their paychecks and other deposits were still not showing up in their accounts, resulting in canceled hospital visits, unpaid bills and other payment delays.

Capital One acknowledged the issue and said it continues to work to ensure full service to customer accounts.

“Due to technical issues with our service provider, there were some disruptions to scheduled direct deposit postings earlier this week. transactions and are completing work to restore full service to all customers as quickly as possible.”

Capital One has not said when it expects service to be fully restored.
