Opinions about Carmelo Anthony’s sentencing vary widely. While some feel it was excessive, others, like Cardi B, are upset that he faced any punishment at all.
In a post on X, Cardi B expressed her outrage: “Wow! This is so amazing! It’s disgusting… This is not justice, this is trying to make an example!!!”
Blaze TV host Allie Beth Stuckey reacted to Cardi’s comments, finding them frustrating, especially given that many on the left seem to share her perspective. “What the hell are you talking about?” she challenged, questioning Cardi’s understanding of due process and morality. “If Nicki Minaj can get it, I think you can too,” she noted.
“Murder is wrong…and you should go to prison for murder,” Stuckey asserted, stressing that the consequences are necessary to deter future crimes.
Stuckey highlighted that Anthony wouldn’t face life in prison but would likely re-enter society in his mid-30s, suggesting he might lead a normal life with family and career opportunities—unlike Austin Metcalfe, the victim.
She defended the justice system, mentioning its role in preventing future murders. “We want potential murderers to see this and think twice before taking drastic actions,” she said.
Stuckey pointed out that concerns about safety aren’t limited to celebrities but involve real lives. While showing a clip of Jasmine Crockett discussing the fears of Black women regarding their loved ones, Stuckey questioned why those mothers feel this way. “It’s not because of Austin Metcalfe, nor the police or white people,” she said, implying that the issue runs deeper.
She added, “If a Black mother fears for her son’s life, that fear should focus on other Black men, because that’s where the statistics are,” drawing attention to uncomfortable truths within community dynamics.
