Carl Banks rips Giants’ Malik Nabers in hot mic moment

It was a moment that could have been much worse.

MSG Network had a hot mic moment during its “Giants Postgame Live” show on Sunday, and the show came out of a break midway through as the hosts were having a private conversation.

Luckily for hosts Amani Toomer, Carl Banks and Madeline Burke, there was no swearing or vitriol, but Banks could be heard berating Giants rookie receiver Malik Nabors.

“What's really interesting is that our players don't value possession,” Banks said, unaware that his comments were being broadcast. “Even with your top pick, you drop one across the route, you have it, and then he misses it. Then he's on the sideline and it probably should have been an incomplete pass, but He just caught it, he was lazy, and the guy slapped it out of his hand. I'm like, “Brother, you're trying to score.'' Please take care of these possessions. ”

Banks, who won two Super Bowls with the Giants, did not specifically mention Nabers by name in the video, but he was clearly referring to the LSU product when referring to “top picks.”

The conversation lasted nearly a minute before a producer could be heard yelling, “Stand by,” and a graphic to subscribe to Giants text alerts popped up on the screen.

Up until then, it was all black with a graphic that said “LIVE” in the top right corner.

Banks' comments were much more tame than what Nabors himself said about his team after the loss.

Neighbors went so far as to call the Giants “soft as free kicks” after Sunday afternoon's 30-7 loss to the Buccaneers at MetLife Stadium.

“First quarter, second quarter, we don't get the ball,” Nabors told reporters, going on a rant about not being involved in the offensive game plan. “At the end you start getting targets, which means you can't do anything. Once you're 30-0, you start taking the ball away. What do you want me to do?”
