Last week, a Carnival cruise ship hit ice in Alaska's Tracy Arm Fjord but emerged unscathed, in what one passenger dramatically compared to a modern-day “Titanic moment.”
Carnival Cruise Line said in a statement to The Post that it had inspected the Carnival Spirit's hull after Thursday's incident and found no damage.
The ship continued its seven-day voyage without incident and is due to arrive in Seattle, Washington on Tuesday.
Either way, passengers and other users on social media reacted to the incident in a rather dramatic way.
“Even if I died, it was so worth it,” passenger Cassandra Goski said in the video. Share on TikTok“It's a Titanic moment.”
“Yeah, there it is,” she said as Spirit hit the ice.
Many other passengers nearby also crowded around the edge of the side deck to watch.

Another passenger on board shared the photo with meteorologists. Reposted to X. One photo shows the Spirit sailing effortlessly across the mostly submerged ice, with a tugboat trailing behind it.
On September 6, another Carnival cruise ship, the Carnival Vista, was forced to divert to the Caribbean due to engine problems, leaving passengers extremely disappointed and demanding refunds.
