Carrie Underwood Leads Church Worship with Powerful ‘Goodness of God’ Rendition

Congregants at a Nashville, Tennessee-area church received a pleasant surprise over the weekend when Grammy Award-winning singer Carrie Underwood led worship services. The eight-time Grammy Award-winning country artist delivered a powerful performance at Rolling Hills Community Church in Franklin, Tennessee. God’s Goodnessis a Dove Award-winning song by Bethel Music and later covered by CeCe Winans.

A video of Underwood conducting a church choir went viral on Instagram, with fans and non-fans alike praising her heartfelt performance.

“An unexpected blessing this morning, the voices of angels…I usually get to church early to listen to the music but today was a little different!” church member Emily Woods wrote on Instagram.

“This was a lovely surprise and a blessing to me,” wrote the Bethel Music fan page administrator. “It’s wonderful to hear her sing about God. Her passion really comes through. I love this song by @bethelmusic!”

“I wish she would make a Christian album. That would be amazing,” another wrote.

Underwood, the winner of the fourth season of American Idol, has been open about her Christian faith.

“We wanted to share some of our personal journeys in the hopes that viewers will be inspired and take further steps in pursuing their relationship with God,” Underwood said.
