Carson Beck Reflects on Breakup Ahead of Florida State Game
Miami Hurricanes quarterback Carson Beck addressed his breakup with former women’s basketball star Hanna Cabinder on Wednesday, just as he prepares for an upcoming match against Florida State.
Beck started dating Cabinder while he was still playing for the Georgia Bulldogs. After transferring to Miami post the 2024 season, the couple parted ways in the spring, before the football season commenced.
He had remained silent about the split up until now, while Cabinder had previously confirmed their breakup took place in April.
“Making mistakes is part of life, but it gets exhausting navigating through issues with someone you truly care about,” he shared. “Half of what the media presents is accurate, while the rest is not. People often choose sides, but those who understand the reality know what happened. It was tough.”
Since their breakup, it’s reported that they haven’t communicated.
Cabinder also discussed her feelings about their separation during a conversation with Kai Trump, President Donald Trump’s granddaughter.
“He had this way of making me feel embarrassed when we were out. I eventually ended things because I learned about things—like cheating—that I hadn’t known before,” she remarked. “It wasn’t just about the betrayal; it was more about who he is as a person.”
Currently, Beck is channeling his energy into football. He told ESPN that the challenges he faced last year transformed his perspective on personal ambitions.
“I’ve been able to connect with my true self, discovering who I really am,” he said. “It’s a stretch to say I’m grateful for everything that has happened, but I wouldn’t be the person I am today without those experiences.”
As a side note, Miami is currently ranked third in the latest Associated Press Top 25 polls, highlighting Beck’s focus on the game ahead.
