The 2024 college football season is just a few months away, but it’s not too early to start keeping an eye on the futures markets.
The Heisman Trophy is a prize worth betting on every season, and this year is no exception, so let’s take a look at the current odds to see where the value is (odds via FanDuel).
2024 Heisman Trophy contender
Carson Beck (+750)
Georgia’s Beck is currently the top prospect on the Heisman Trophy market and also the favorite to be the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Beck is poised to make a big impact in his redshirt senior season after throwing for 3,941 yards and 24 touchdowns with just six interceptions last season.
The Bulldogs will have to find replacements for Brock Bowers and Ladd McConkey, but wide receivers Dominique Lovett and Lara Thomas are primed to have breakout seasons.
Georgia missed out on the College Football Playoff last year, but as a current favorite to win it, Beck could be leading the charge for the best team in the country.
Quinn Ewers (+900)
Texas will join the SEC this season and further increase its profile as one of the biggest brands in college football.
The Longhorns went 12-2 last season but were narrowly defeated by Washington in the CFP semifinals.
Ewers contributed greatly to the team’s breakout season, recording 22 touchdown passes and six interceptions in 12 games.
But the Longhorns lost last season’s top five receivers Xavier Worthy, Adonai Mitchell, Ja’Tavion Sanders, Jordan Whittington and Jonathan Brooks.
Transfers Isaiah Bond and Silas Bolden are poised to fill the gap, but with so many moving parts in the pass-catching corps, it would be premature to bet Ewers will win the Heisman.
Dillon Gabriel (+1000)
After a stellar season at Oklahoma, where he threw 30 touchdowns and only six interceptions, Gabriel transferred to the University of Oregon for his final collegiate season.
Gabriel replaced Bo Nix as the Ducks’ starting center after finishing on the Heisman Trophy podium with 45 touchdowns last year.
Gabriel enters the best situation for any quarterback in the country with a talented offensive line and an elite pass-catching corps featuring returning Tez Johnson and transfer Evan Stewart.
Oregon is expected to be a strong contender in its first season in the Big Ten Conference, and Gabriel will be a driving force behind the team’s success.
Best Value
Jackson Dart (+1500)
There were doubts before the season whether he would even earn the starting spot, but Dart flourished, totaling 31 touchdowns and just five interceptions.
He’ll return looking to do even more and could put up video-game numbers in Lane Kiffin’s offense with his passing and rushing prowess.
Featuring one of the top transfer portal classes in the country, Ole Miss is looking to have a great season with a chance to challenge SEC leaders Georgia and Texas.
One of the transfers is Antwain “Juice” Wells Jr., who could be poised to have a big season in Oxford alongside star receiver Tre Harris.

Riley Leonard (20/1)
Notre Dame has once again entered the ACC transfer portal in its search for a starting quarterback, and former Duke passer Riley Leonard is primed to have a breakout season.
An injury kept Leonard off the field for most of the spring, but Senior Bowl director Jim Nagy recently reported that Leonard was “back to full-force ball-hitting form” during a recent workout in Mobile.
If Leonard can stay healthy, he’s a Heisman contender this season. New Notre Dame offensive coordinator Mike Denbrock coached Jayden Daniels to a Heisman trophy last year, and Leonard has elite rushing potential as well. In 2022, his last fully healthy season, he rushed for 699 yards and 13 touchdowns.

Drew Aller (40/1)
If you’re looking for a big-hit player on the Heisman market, Aller is worth considering. The Penn State quarterback had a disappointing first season as a starter, but the former five-star was held back by the play calling.
Former offensive coordinator Mike Yurcich never gave Aller the authority to start an offense.
Former Kansas State offensive coordinator Andy Kotelnicki arrived in Happy Valley looking to modernize the downfield passing game.
Kotelnicki has worked with Kansas coach Lance Leipold to build one of the most dynamic and creative attacks in the country in recent years.
If he can make the most of Aller’s arm talent, odds of 40/1 could be a bargain.
