Cartel gunmen killed at least four Mexican soldiers and injured several others in a series of ambush attacks using landmines and weaponized drones. The gunmen managed to escape.
The attack occurred Thursday afternoon in rural Michoacán, near the town of Tepalcatepec. The area is known for its heavy cartel presence, with armed groups both Cartel Jalisco New Generation and its rival Cartel Unidos. Defense groups such as Los Biagras and La Familia united.
