Carville Predicts Trump’s Potential Resignation

James Carville, a veteran Democratic strategist, reinforced his belief that President Trump might resign, feeling overwhelmed by the impending midterm elections. Earlier this month, he shared a video with the title “Trump will be gone sooner than you think!” and recently followed it up with another video asserting, “Trump will resign from office.” This seems to echo a popular quip about Trump: “He always resigns,” poking fun at his unpredictable decision-making.

During a podcast session with co-host Al Hunt, a listener suggested that politicians would impeach Trump if they truly did their jobs. Hunt quickly responded, advising the audience to avoid using the term “impeachment,” explaining that such discussions could divert attention from what Trump prefers to keep in focus.

Carville concurred, stating that, rather than face removal from office, he believes Trump is more likely to step down. “What I want to discuss now is the potential for him to resign because I think he might not fully grasp how drastically his life could change after November,” Carville noted.

“He still holds the presidency, but his power is diminishing,” he continued. “In just two years, he has alienated public opinion and lost control of both the Senate and the House. Lobbyists will soon start leaning towards the opposition.” Carville illustrated a scenario where a prominent international leader might delay responding to Trump’s call, hinting at Trump’s waning influence.

He reflected, “I feel he’s just not cut out for this. When faced with pressure, it’s understandable to feel frightened. There’s a real chance he might just think, ‘It’s not worth it,’ and walk away.” Carville openly questioned Trump’s resilience, suggesting he might be too worn down to continue successfully.

Hunt added that should Trump decide to resign, he might negotiate some sort of deal with J.D. Vance to evade prosecution post-office. Carville reiterated his thoughts, expressing skepticism about Trump’s ability to endure. “He’s not physically or mentally fit to keep this up. I can’t see him carrying on for much longer.” He concluded with a rather candid assessment of Trump, describing him as “fat, lazy, and emaciated.”

In a lighter moment, Hunt teased, “Donald, we hardly knew you, but it seems you’ll never really be gone.”
