Maher, a longtime Trump critic, had dinner with Trump at the White House earlier this month. As the final re-recording of the meeting at last week’s HBO show, the host was amazed at how the president “measured and measured with grace” in a closed room.

“I didn’t feel like I had to walk on the eggshells around him,” Maher told his “real-time” audience. “And honestly, I voted for Clinton and Obama, but I never feel comfortable talking to them in a way that allows me to talk to Donald Trump.

During a podcast appearance later that week, Maher responded to the backlash he received from the left for the meeting.

“I had the opportunity to go to the White House and talk to the President and not give up on my principles. It seems no one has noticed that,” Maher said. “I didn’t go to the Maga. I had the opportunity to talk to Donald Trump and tell him something he had never heard of.

With their program, Hunt told Kerrville that he thought Maher “had” or had been fooled to find Trump’s charm.

“I think Bill Maher had. He went there and he talked about how charming and lovely the charming and lovely Trump was. This was the same guy who was illegally deported to El Salvador that day, refused to bring him back, loved to hurt people and wanted to inflict pain.”

“But Bill is, among the really bad people, the latest in a set of people that can be gained by personal charm,” Hunt continued.

While viewing Marhel as a “friend,” Kerrville buzzed, stating that he believed he was being fooled too.

Hunt said, “I agree with you with naivety. When I lie down with my dog, I become a flea.”
